Dear Friends of Petraits,
During February, many organizations in Illinois' Cook,
DuPage and Kane Counties are offering large discounts
on spaying and neutering to keep pets from having spring
litters.
During February, Cook County residents can save $40
on spay / neuter surgery for their dog, cat or ferret
by taking advantage of the Cook County Department of
Animal Control's Spay/Neuter rebate program.
To take advantage of this great offer, make sure to
ask your veterinarian if they are participating in the
Cook County spay/neuter rebate program. There are no
coupons, vouchers, or mail-in rebate forms. If your vet
participates in the program, they will receive a $40
rebate for each spay/neuter they perform during the month
of February. So, you pay only the discounted price.
This offer is available only to Cook County residents
and there is a limit of two pets per household. Pets
must be current on rabies and distemper vaccine.
The city of Northlake is adding a $20 bonus for each
spay/neuter for their residents.
You can go to your favorite local vet that offers the
rebate or ...PAWS Chicago Lurie Family Spay/Neuter Clinic
at 3516 W. 26th Street in Chicago (773.521.7729) where
your dog or cat can also receive micro-chips. Low-cost
vaccines, heartworm-testing and preventative for dogs
and virus-testing for cats is also offered.
The Anti-Cruelty Society's Low-Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic
at 157 W. Grand Ave. in Chicago (312.644.8338, ext. 347).
They also offer low-cost vaccines for dogs and cats.
Also the Tree House Animal Foundation is offering 30
free spay/neuter surgeries for low-income families during
the month of February. This is in addition to their regular
low-cost spay/neuter surgeries that they perform. Tree
House is also selling candy in order to raise the money
for their vet clinic, if you’re interested in the
spay/neuter surgeries for cats only, or are interesting
in purchasing candy, please contact Jennifer Schlueter,
Tree House Animal Foundation director of development
at 773.784.5488, ext. 231 or e-mail her at [email protected].
And, Anderson Animal Shelter in South Elgin also offers
low cost spay/neuter surgeries and vaccines. For a limited
time, Anderson is offering free spay/neuter for feral
cats that have been trapped in Kane County. At the time
of surgery, feral cats will also be tested for feline
viruses, given distemper and rabies vaccinations, and
ear notched at no cost. To schedule an appointment, please
call 847-697-2880, ext. 28.
If you live in DuPage Country, I've attached their Spay
Day 2005 coupon (PDF).
Thanks for forwarding this e-mail to encourage spaying
and neutering.
