January 2005
He had an ear infection and the doctor is treating it very nicely. I kept noticing he had a bad smell around his head and that is what it was. He doesn't like the drops, but does take his other medicine for us. He is doing great. He has torn up the window blinds in the dining room and in the living room. I told [Simon's dad] to please raise them and he kept forgetting to. Oh, well, we will replace them in time. We really love Simon. We took him to our daughter's for 4 days of Christmas. Simon made 4 dogs total. He had a ball. My daughter's house has a big enclosed backyard and Simon and their Lab romped and played big time. Simon thinks he is a small lap puppy. We sit down and he backs up to our laps and tries to sit down. Is quiet the character. We will keep you informed. He is suppose to start obedience training in about two weeks. He also loves bath time.

While in rescue:

Simon —Adopted December 17, 2004

While in rescue: Simon was a 2 yr old, male-neutered, black/tan German Shepherd/Husky mix,. He was reserved and a laid back gentleman. Simon just liked to hang out. He was a people and dog watcher and seemed to soak up all the information of his surroundings. He would stand on his back legs, nose to nose with you and stare into your eyes. You just got the feeling he understood everything that was going on. The shelter he was at had a volunteer that really loved Simon very much, and Simon was running out of time. He wasn't a pure bred Shepherd, but to save someone's friend, he was Shepherd enough for us.
