Dog available through this rescue
Cassie

Cassie is a beautiful and wonderful 6 year old black/tan, spayed, female German Shepherd Dog. She is mellow and cuddly and so very sweet, yet still playful and fun to hang out with. She is a super special pup that needs a great new home. She was a very loved member of her home, but a nasty neighbor placed her life at risk. Fearing for her, her family placed her in rescue to find a safer environment that will be just as loving. She is the perfect age and is a wonderful pet. Please consider opening your heart and home to this very special dog.

A special thank you goes out to Cassie's sponsor:
Jody Leigh in memory of her beloved German Shepherd, Dixie.
Remember, more than one person can sponsor a dog like Cassie! It just takes a $20 donation!

Riese and Vinnie
Riese and Vinnie are senior citizens at 8 and 9 years old. They are fully vaccinated and neutered. They have lived together most of their lives and must be placed together. Vinnie (below) is having a bit harder time with his change in location, but his brother helps him out a lot. Riese (getting his neck scratched in the photo to the right) is a gorgeous purebred male and Vinnie is an adorable Shepherd mix. Their daddy became very ill and had to be moved to a nursing home. Their owner's daughter would have loved to be able to take them, but lives far away and in an apartment dwelling where two large dogs are not welcome by the landlord. It was a heartbreaking decision for her to leave the dogs in someone else's care. We would love to find a precious family to help these boys out and hope that an open adoption (meaning that those that adopt would keep in contact with the previous owner) would be possible to allow the boys to visit their daddy. He lives in Danville, Illinois right now.

Riese and Vinnie are looking for sponsors. It takes only a $20 donation to become a sponsor!

Reno

Reno is a Black/Tan, Male, neutered, 70 pound (should be over 90lbs when filled out) German Shepherd Dog. He is 1.5 -2 years old and is an extremely sweet boy that is very cuddly and a gentle giant. He apparently has experienced some very sad things. The fact that a huge male German Shepherd will cower at a raised voice is a sure sign of a yellow-bellied human interaction at some point. Some spineless idiot must have thought he was something at some point, to cause Reno to be so submissive to a raised voice or a loud noise. Reno is just a perfect dog and doesn't deserve or need a heavy hand. We are searching for a loving home that will gently provide a secure place for such a great dog. We hope that the person who hurt Reno in the past gets what he deserves someday.

A special thank you goes out to Reno's sponsor:
Jennifer and Ryan Lane, in honor of Reggie.

Zoe & Puppies (note: we believe the puppies are Boxer/German Shepherd Dog mixes)

Zoe is a young mommy with four 2 week old babies. Their estimated date of birth is July 28th, 2003. Three are females and one is a male puppy. The babies seem to be nice, clean and fat. Mommy has done a great job.

Mommy has head to toe skin infections due most likely to the many fleas on her. She has no hair on her elbows and tail where she has large sores. The rest of her body has deep scratches, sores, and wounds from chewing and scratching. She hasn't had access to proper nutrition for a pregnant or nursing mommy and is
extremely thin. She may also have a urinary tract infection. She needs a lot of antibiotics, skin treatment, more flea treatment, and medicated baths for her sores. She will also need to be spayed when she's done nursing, so she never has to go through this situation again. She also will need all of her vaccinations and her puppies all need to be vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

All of them are on high protein puppy food (dry and canned) Together this will amount to a significant sum of money. The puppies will probably cost over $200.00 each after at least 7 weeks of care, vaccines, surgeries, and other medical and preventative treatments. Mommy may cost even more with her more complex situations. She is still needing to have her most basic medical preventative care.

The entire family will hopefully be ready to go home after September 29th, but we are taking applications right now. You will be asked to make an appointment to come see them, but those arrangements will be made when they are at least 6 weeks old. Please do not fill out an application if you are not very serious and willing to wait for the family to be ready.
