The kids are doing fine. They're just too cute for words. They just go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Kids are doing fine. Had to visit the vet last Friday. Kooper is 84 lbs and Leiah is 85 lbs. The kids send puppy kisses to all. My baby boy (Kooper) finally became a "man puppy" yesterday. He finally hiked his leg. I was so proud, and then, not to be outdone, Leiah came up behind his and hiked her leg. It's too funny. They're getting a little stir crazy. They want to go out and play ball. Kooper would stay outside all the time if you'd let him.

Kooper's family writes, "Here's the kids at Christmas time (only six months late, but just now got a new scanner) They're doing just great!"

Spring 2004: Kooper loves the swimming pool, but really prefers to play with the garden hose

Leiah will pick a fight with Kooper when he's on the couch so then he gets off the couch and she hops on and just flops down. They like to chase each other around the dog house and every once in awhile after they have been playing and they come inside, one of them is usually missing their dog collar (mostly Kooper). Don't know how she does it but she gets it off of him every time. They both love to sit on top of the dog house and bark at everyone. We love them very much and try not to spoil them too much (Ha!) Wouldn't trade them in for the world.

Kooper and Leiah are doing great. Both are now weighing in 77.6lbs (Kooper) and 76lbs (Leiah). It took them about a month to become friends but now they are velcroed...They are such wonderful and comical dogs to watch. Kooper's 1st birthday!

Luke's parents write: He (Kooper) is now around 55lbs and loves the snow. Couldn't get enough of snow. When it first started falling he would jump up and try to catch it. Ice cubes are another favorite of his too. Don't know why, but when you go to get ice, he's like a cat that has heard the can opener. He has a trick where he will drop his toy into the bathroom waste can and then pick up something else out of the trash as if he's trying to say, "Hey, this is a fair trade".

Luke (Kooper) is happy with his new family and spoiled too! See his picture with Santa.

While in rescue:

Luke (renamed Kooper)— Adopted on September 21, 2002

While in rescue: Luke was a 3 month old, black/tan, Shepherd mix that loved to be cuddled and would sit quietly for hours if he could just be on your lap. He also seemed to like water! He was very good about going potty when you took him outside, but like any puppy, needed to be taken out often. He was very good about chewing on his own toys and not the furniture. Of course, as with any puppy, it was difficult to find him still enough for a good picture. As you can see (look at the ears), this picture was a motion shot!

A special thanks goes out to Luke's sponsors: Aileen O'Dea, Terri Maxwell, Kathleen Braun, Kathie Enser, Bruce Long and Kim Long

Leiah — Adopted on July 6, 2003

While in rescue: Leiah was a 1.5 year old black/red female that was born on December 24, 2001. She was a joint rescue effort by Faery Tails Corgi Rescue of St. Louis Inc and the Central Illinois German Shepherd Dog Rescue. Thank you to everyone that sponsored Leiah so that she could receive the treatment she needed.
