Have a plan ready in case you are unable to care for your pet! Given the millions of pets that are put to sleep each year in our nation's pounds and humane societies, it is unlikely your pet will enjoy the life you promised them the day you took them home if you become unable to care for them and don't have a plan ready. Your pet trusts in you, so make sure there is a friend or relative that is willing to care for your pet in the event you no longer can. You owe it to your pet. You also owe it to yourself to have the peace of mind that your pet will be well taken care of.
