Private families, individuals and rescue organizations in Illinois, and surrounding states, wishing to find a home for their German Shepherd Dog or German Shepherd Dog mix are welcome to use our Community Dogs page. They may provide pictures of their dog and give a brief history, however they are responsible for taking all contacts directly from potential adopters. The Central Illinois German Shepherd Dog Rescue assumes no liability resulting from any misrepresentations or adoption mismatches. All dogs posted on the Community Dogs page must be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. We reserve the right to refuse to post, and may remove, any community dog from our website at any time. Please e-mail if you have further questions or concerns about these policies.

Solo is a 7 year old, neutered, German Shepherd Dog that is large, beautiful, and of full German lines. Solo loves to hike, swim, and play soccer. He is very good with all people, but is nervous around small children.

Solo has been a great family dog and companion for the the last seven years. Unfortunately, he has become extremely nervous and skittish around the owners' 2 year old son, and to make matters worse, they are expecting a new baby at the first of the year. As hard as this is, and as much as they don't want to find Solo a new home, they feel they must do so. Solo is well trained in basic obedience and is house broken.

Solo loves long walks on leash. He must have a soccer ball to play with. He loves to swim in any type of water and also loves to spend time outdoors, so a large fenced yard is a must. Solo, is a large dominant male who tends not to get along well with other male dogs. So, besides small children and male dogs, Solo is an awesome dog who just wants a lot of love and attention!!

Solo knows to go potty outside, is on heartworm preventative and is current on his rabies shot and other shots. Solo last visited his vet in July 2006.

Please contact Solo's owners if you think you can provide him with a home that has an active lifestyle without children or other male dogs.
