Photos: (1) This is Sammie last fall laying in a pile of leaves in the front yard. Shortly after this picture, she was scared out of her fur when she moved and heard the leaves rustle. She isn't very fond of strange noises (2) Here is a close up of Sammie, she knows she is beautiful. However, it is very rare that she looks at a camera...she is shy. It is very hard to believe that she is going to be 4! Her birthday is this Sunday. I will take some pictures of her at her party and send them shortly. (3) The last picture is of her and her brother Rocky....spooning!

Here are a few pictures of Sammie and her younger brother Rocky (Mr. Floppy Ears). In June of this year, Sammie's older brother Cody, got very sick. He had cancer in his spleen and it ruptured and he had massive internal bleeding. It was a very hard thing to do but we had to put him down. He was a very sweet boy and is still missed by everyone including Sammie and Rocky.

Sammie is such a loving girl and brings us great joy. Everyone that knows her, loves her. because her personality is so sweet. She is very obedient......with one exception, we can't keep her off the couch in the living room. She has been caught up there and knows she isn't supposed to be up there, but the temptation to lounge up there during the day and look out the window in comfort, is too great. She has definitely become a Mama's girl and follows me around the house like a little duckling. She loves to be outside with her brother and run laps around the yard. She also loves to run and play with her brother Rocky in the snow.

As you can see from the picture on her birthday, she is treated like dog royalty. She gets to sit at the kitchen table on a chair, eat cake and doggie ice cream, wearing a stylish Scoobie Doo birthday hat while her Mom and Dad sing Happy Birthday to her......spoiled huh?

Sammie now has TWO brothers. Cody the 9 year old Shepherd, and the most recent addition, her younger brother named Rocky, who is now a year old. Sammie is truly one of a kind. She has grown out of the mischievous stage but she still is very energetic! Running and playing in the back yard with her brothers is her favorite pastime. She also spends many summer hours on bird/duck duty. She waits for birds or ducks to land in the pool so she can chase them out. That is her summer job that she thoroughly enjoys. Sammie still loves her rawhide bones but her younger brother Rocky likes to hoard the bones. Sammie isn't that willing to just give up her bones so she has started hiding them for chewing at a later time! One on one Sammie is a cuddler. She loves to cuddle and give kisses.Photos: 1) Sammie's first birthday party. 2) Sammie's two brothers, Rocky and Cody. 3) Sammie waits for Santa to bring more gifts 4) Sammie knows she's a cutie! 5) Is it time to open presents yet?

February 18, 2004
Sammie has adapted very well to her new home. She is very independent and loves to explore which sometimes leads to trouble! She is a handful to say the least. She loves her 7yr old brother Cody and won't leave him alone. When Sammie is up, she wants Cody up to play with her. She LOVES to be outside, eat snow, and just lay around in it! Sammie is in obedience training and is doing very well.
